Joy in the Congo: A Musical Miracle

I'm watching the 60 Minutes special on CBS about an orchestra formed in the Congo. I am truly moved by how music has changed lives and given the people from the Congo an escape from life.  Please check it out, it will be worth your time.

    Jazz and Show Chorus

Last night, the EDS Show Chorus members went to the Jazz and Show Chorus-o-Rama at Nokomis Regional High School.  We thoroughly enjoyed the many great performances by NHS, MCI, Sebasticook  and Somerset Schools.  The hard work that they put in showed.  I am continually impressed with the caliber of performers in RSU 19. Well done!

Volunteer Opportunity - Meals From Maine

Dear EDS Staff and Middle School Students,
Recently, I was shown a volunteer opportunity and thought that many of you would be interested. The program (linked below) is designed to feed malnourished children in third world countries. Volunteers will be gathered to put together food packages.  This specific event will be located in the old Circuit City building in Bangor (date is located in the survey and website). Before signing up a group, I would need to have an estimate of people interested.  When I know how many people are interested, I will find out when we would be packaging foods (two hour block of time).
